Kaivalya Vora, one of the co-founders of quick commerce app Zepto, has been named India’s youngest billionaire in Hurun’s India Rich List.
“The youngest person on the Hurun India Rich List is 21-year-old Kaivalya Vora of Zepto, an e-commerce startup valued at $5 billion. His co-founder Aadit Paricha, 22, is the second youngest on the list,” Hurun said.
According to the list, Vohra, who has a net worth of Rs 3,600 crore, is making his third appearance in the Hurun list. He made his first appearance in the 2022 edition.
Zepto co-founders Vohra and Paricha were both students at Stanford University but dropped out of computer science courses at age 18 to start their own startups.
“The two friends founded Zepto in 2021 to meet the growing demand for fast, contactless delivery of essential items during the COVID-19 pandemic,” reported NDTV World. Reported.
The number of entrants on the Hurun India Rich List has surpassed 1,500 for the first time, reflecting a 150% increase from seven years ago, according to NDTV Profit.
The cumulative wealth of the members of the Hurun India Rich List is over Rs 159 trillion, more than the combined GDP of Saudi Arabia and Switzerland.
“India now has 334 billionaires, measured in dollar terms, a six-fold increase since the list began 13 years ago. The country has created a new billionaire every five days for the past year,” NDTV Profit reported.
In contrast, Hanwantvir Sunny of NRB Bearings is 95 years old, making him the oldest debutant on the list.
