Young and the Restless: Cole Howard’s Tragic Death Rock Genoa City
If you’re the latest in your episode, you know that Cole Howard, the father of Claire Grace Newman, is battling Legionnaire’s illness, a serious form of pneumonia. It’s very easy to cure in real life, but Cole Howard’s case did not respond to antibiotics. So he returned to the city of Genoa to die.
The hospital called Claire Grace Newman and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and said, “Get off here as soon as possible.” Cole Howard said he was dead and wanted to say goodbye to his life and his daughter’s love.
Claire Grace Newman’s broken heart and regret
Claire was very sad. She talked with Cole Howard about not having enough time and how much she wanted her father when she was little. But all she had was her psycho great Jordan Howard (Coleen Zenk).
Claire Grace Newman is so upset at the idea that Cole Howard is going to die that she runs through the room in tears. She misses his actual death. Cole Howard speaks to Victoria Newman’s goodbye, and of course she’s been crushed. They share a final kiss, then Cole Howard dies Young and calm.
It’s going to happen this Thursday. Of course, Claire is upset that she didn’t stick to see Cole take his final breath.
Victoria Newman faces losses as he comforts Young and the restless Claire
This was tough because Claire Grace Newman never knew her parents were growing up. Crazy Jordan invited her as a toddler. But Victoria Newman and Cole Howard made up for the lost time with Claire Grace Newman. They rekindled their romance after years of separation.
Both Victoria Newman and Claire thought they would spend more time with Cole Howard.
So, of course, Claire is torn apart by seams.
Y&R spoilers: Holden Novak’s scheme targets Claire Grace Newman
Meanwhile, Holden Novak receives a march order from Kane Ashby (Billy Flynn) to target her, among other things. When Holden told Kane Ashby how close he was to Claire Grace Newman, his boss was very excited about it.
Kane Ashby will be excited as Holden Novak has a target for her. Claire is really sad. She’s twice as sad as her boyfriend Kyle Abbott (Michael Muir) needs to lean over there. But thanks to the cane, we are stuck in France with Kyle Abbott without mobile service.
Claire cannot contact him. She can’t text him, do nothing. She needs Kyle so much now. Claire leaves him with a pathetic, sad voicemail, but he knows who will get it.
Kyle Abbott’s absence makes Claire vulnerable
I think this is all perfect timing for Holden Novak, who might make the most of Claire’s sadness.
Also this week, Holden Novak will move another target Kane Ashby gave him: Chelsea Lawson Newman (Melissa Claire Egan). However, Holden is not going to advance with her.
It turns out that Chelsea Lawson Newman saw him alongside Kane Ashby in Crimson Wright. She didn’t seem to know, but she did. Chelsea thinks Holden Novak is working for her, and she thinks it all.
Holden Novak lies to Chelsea and tries to cover it, but as an ex-con man, Chelsea Lawson Newman knows the lie when he hears it. Therefore, Holden has no chance of forming any kind of fake friendship with Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) lover.

But Claire Grace Newman needs someone now. She’s the easier mark. She needs her shoulder to cry.
If I remember the other day, Claire Grace Newman was in the park and is so mad at her dad, Cole Howard. Her health crisis I had a panic attack. Who do you think spoke to her? It was Holden Novak.
They went for a drink and talked about it.

Holden Novak plays sadness cards with Claire Grace Newman
So you know, Claire will go out somewhere, perhaps having another breakdown of sadness. Holden Novak may once again be in a position there for Claire. Be a crying shoulder for what she needs now.
Holden Novak says that Wand Ashby is a bit flirty to him, but he says that it’s a truly friendly atmosphere, so I think Holden Novak really likes Claire as a friend.
Holden really wants Ashby to please his wand. He wants to involve those big, fat salaries.
So, unfortunately, I think Holden Novak will do whatever it takes to make the outcome he wants a cane.
Audra Charles, Holden Novak, and the twisted Y&R love triangle
There is no romantic atmosphere between Holden Novak and Claire. But that doesn’t mean Holden won’t take advantage of the situation with Claire Grace Newman.
I was able to see her sad and share a drink at GCAC. Holden Novak secretly arranged to buy it for Kane Ashby, so you should drink it for free there.
If you remember, Holden hates Kyle Abbott and he jealous of him for his past with Audra Charles.
Holden Novak clearly wanted to have Audra Charles himself. But he also knows whether she and Nate Hastings (Shawn Dominique) have broken up, Audra may play to return with Kyle Abbott.
Drunk Decisions: Claire and Holden’s Dangerous Night at GCAC
So Holden Novak may be hanging out with Claire when she is upset, drink while thinking about her poor, tragically dead father. She’s a little drunk, a little drunk, there’s something there, something above her sadness.
Holden Novak gets caught up in bed with Claire Grace Newman in Holden’s room at GCAC and it’s like that.
I was able to see something like that happening. Heck, Claire, with Holden Novak, woke up half-clothed in bed, and might imagine the worst. And he makes her assume that.
Let’s be real. If Claire got drunk and had sex with her when Holden Novak couldn’t agree, it would be really bad.
Guilt, secrets and the impact on Young and the restless Kyle Abbott and Claire
If they got drunk together and had a nasty, boozy overnight stand that Claire Grace Newman and Holden Novak didn’t agree to, it’s messy. But that’s not like when Claire’s drunkard and Holden were calm and targeting her.
But I think he’s a bit awful so don’t count it.
He knows Kyle Abbott is abroad, so Holden Novak may comfort Claire.
Holden may not even need to be used. Claire was able to cross the line with Holden because she was so upset that Kyle wasn’t there.

It is fairly common for people to connect after a loved one’s death or after a funeral. According to psychologists, it is a life-affirmation.
With Kyle Abbott not around, Claire Grace Newman doesn’t think clearly for his grief, so Holden might be the next best.
You pour a little alcohol on it and you get a bonfire.
So, if Holden puts Claire in bed in any way, she would feel guilty if Claire assumes they did, whether they do or not. She confesses to Kyle Abbott and becomes beautiful.
Kane Ashby’s Agenda: Use Holden to shake up Genoa City
Also, Audra Charles is bubbling up again Audra Charles has some summer spoilers. That might be about Kyle Abbott, as she appears to be completely off by Holden Novak. So wait to see it.
If Claire Grace Newman ends up in bed with Holden Novak, you will never know. Kane Ashby may give Holden a bonus.
It is not yet entirely clear whether the Staff hopes that Holden Novak will approach the people of the List and recruit them as allies, or set the stage to blow life as a secondary loss in the coming war vs. Victor Newman (Eric Braden).

Claire’s sadness feels like she can be a simple target, but she also gets an evil streak due to her crazy aunt and how she grew up.
If it turns out Holden is playing her, he and the wand may need to see their backs. I don’t know what Claire will do for revenge.
