Xbox announced this week that it will be rolling out new features for Discord as part of its August update. These new features include the ability to watch Discord streams directly from the console itself, which previously required the use of an external device. This complements the existing feature that lets users live stream their Xbox gameplay on the chat platform.

According to Discord’s latest updatesNew features include the integration of Discord into the Happening Now tab of the Xbox friends list. Now, players can see which friends are talking to them in voice channels and games, and join calls and chats with others directly from their Xbox. This allows users to take advantage of most of the features of Discord without using a phone or PC. Both Discord and Xbox noted that users may need to relink their accounts to access the new features.

The Discord update is part of Xbox’s larger August update. According to the console company:Other updates include the addition of the Xbox app to the first-generation Fire TV Stick and third-generation Fire TV Cube, and more cloud gaming options for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Another big update is the ability to customize installations on console and PC, allowing players to decide which parts of a title they want to install. This is especially useful for titles that have multiple different play options, such as Call of Duty.
