US Stock Market: Dow falls over 100 pts, Nasdaq slides below 18,750; NVIDIA, Amazon, Microsoft top blue-chip losers

Today’s US Stock Market, Dow Jones, S&P 500, Nasdaq: Wall Street was caught up in pressure Monday amidst weakness in technology, energy and materials distribution, aside from the strength of spaces such as real estate, healthcare and consumer staples, helping the benchmark index avoid deeper cuts.

The Dow Jones industrial average fell to 43,702.7 from 138.2 points (0.3%). Another American blue chip index, the S&P 500, fell to 35.3 points (0.6%) to 5,919.2, while the US technology-popular composite soaked it in as low as 18,647.2, dropping 200.1 points (1.1%) from its previous end.

Among the index heavyweights, Nvidia, Amazon and Microsoft were the top losers, each down about 1-4%.
