The Tripura cabinet on Wednesday approved a proposal to increase DA by 5 per cent for state civil servants and pensioners from November 1, the minister said.
Around 200,000 employees and pensioners will benefit from an additional DA of 5%, taking the total dearness allowance to 30%, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sushanta Chaudhary told reporters.
“The Council of Ministers has approved a proposal to increase the DA by 5% for civil servants and pensioners from November 1. The state government will have to spend an additional Rs 500 crore annually for the DA increase,” it said. the minister said. Cabinet meeting.
He said the decision was taken despite the difficult financial situation and the government spending Rs 1.7 billion on rehabilitation works after devastating floods in the northeastern states.
Chaudhary said the move to increase DA by 5 per cent was aimed at reducing the difference in dearness allowance between Center employees and state governments. Currently, central government employees receive 53 per cent DA, he said.
Chaudhary said the cabinet also agreed to another proposal to increase the ration allowance for Tripura State Rifles (TSR) from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 per month and the flat grant from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 per year. He said he did.
“Apart from increasing ration and uniform allowance, the cabinet has allocated Rs 5,000 crore for the repair of TSR bases in the state. Each TSR battalion will be paid Rs 500,000 for setting up a gymnasium and 240 TSR personnel They will also be given long-term temporary promotions.”
