This is an indication that Athletic, a subscription-based sports journalism site owned by The Times, has acquired a loyal player to continue to publish it. The theme is this year’s NBA Conference Finalist. The four answers are the Knicks, Pacer, Thunder and Timberwolves.
Green words of today’s connection
The theme is the NBA mascot. The four answers are Benny, Boomer, Bernie and Rumble.

The most stringent connections: Sports Edition Categories
Connect: The sports edition puzzle is difficult, but it really depends on the sport you know most. My husband, whatever it relates to Formula 1, my best friend is a hockey enthusiast and can answer questions about the Minnesota team.
That said, choosing the most stringent connection categories is difficult, but there are some things I’ve discovered recently that are quite surprising.
#1: Series A Club, January 11th. Answer: Atalanta, Juventus, Lazio, Rome.
#2: WNBA MVPS, January 21st. Answers: Catching, Deldon, Fouls, Stewart.
#3: Premier League team nickname, January 17th. Answer: Bees, cherries, foxes, hammers.
#4: Gay NBA player name, January 26th. Answer: Barn, Connect, Heart, Hero.
