On his latest trip to the Middle East, Donald Trump has made big news. He shows acceptability for trading with normalisation of Iranian trade for nuclear non-proliferation. He has ended his bombing campaign against Yemen and is also pushing for normalization with Syria. Additionally, the White House avoided Israel to talk directly with Hamas. These moves have angered not only the Israeli government, but some hawks in the GOP. But will Trump’s attempts to shift American policy in the Middle East pay off, especially given the unstable attention to detail and the record of sudden changes in direction?
