If you are afraid of the widespread use of artificial intelligence, believe me, I understand your feelings, and it is understandable that you don’t trust it.
Believe me. Terminator, 2001: A Space Odyssey, War Games, Blade Runner, alien, matrixO.G. Battlestar Galactica And then the reboot, and they all told me the same thing: artificial intelligence is going to come along and then we’re all going to die.
The future is here and everyone is using it to write letters, draw funny pictures, and take orders at Taco Bell. The Terminator is not here yet.
So, now that it’s here, maybe we should stop treating it like it’s some kind of all-pop-culture nightmare.
No, I’m not saying we should start trusting AI completely, I’m just saying that I think there’s a huge opportunity to explore between blindly entrusting our future to AI and the growing number of stories about AI being the harbinger of the apocalypse, and we might all be better off sticking to that exploration.
Because here it is, and if there are any more Terminator movies, I doubt they’ll be named. Terminator: Everything’s fine, just calm down.
