Outside of a short 46-game stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Hall of Fame 2 Guard Dwyane Wade He wore the number 3 jersey of his impressive career. Supported by his 13 All-Star appearances, his eight All-NBAs and most importantly, his three championships and one Final MVP, Wade was our choice as the best player to wear the iconic No. 3, but he had some serious competition, meaning Chris Paul and Allen Iverson.
Speaking of Iverson, Wade said at his Hall of Fame ceremony that he was “respectfully” in college and strengths. For him:
“Michael Jordan was my favorite player, but as Michael Jordan decided to retire from the game, Allen Iverson became a hero of our culture.” Wade said. “I think a lot of people know I’m wearing No. 3, but a lot of people don’t know why I wear No. 3, so I wanted to take this moment as an opportunity to be what I was supposed to be. Wade has been added.
Wade too I said it in 2011 He was wearing third place in honor of the Holy Trinity.
Wade has worn other numbers throughout his basketball career. He finished 25th in high school and ninth in both Cleveland and Team USA at both the ’06 World Championships and the ’08 Olympics. At the ’04 Olympics, Wade wore No. 6.
Wade’s good friend, LeBron JamesIn fact, I had to negotiate with the rookie of the time. Cedi Osmanoriginally, he was planning on wearing No. 9 in the Cavs before Wade decided to join the team and picked it as his number. Whether Wade had to pay Osman for this number has never been made public.
Wade chose No. 9 at the Olympics. Michael JordanAt the 1992 Olympics, he symbolically wore numbers as a member of the Dream Team. Wade and James exchanged numbers as members of the team after being short and easy Discussion about it:
One player who sought a nine for Jordan was Dwyane Wade, a friend of James, who was given six at the 2004 Olympics.
After those games, James and Wade exchanged numbers.
“I’m looking at him, ‘But, I really want number 9’,” Wade said. “And he’s like ‘perfect’. Because I really want number 6. “And that was a simple exchange. ”
Wade led the 2008 redemption team in scoring.
Now Wade was in a very tough competition, as he was, and we ended up choosing him, but Paul especially made this a very difficult choice. Paul has finished third in all seven stops in the NBA and has more than three All-NBA appearances than Wade has made in his career. Anyway, we went with Wade based on the fact that he was able to lead his team to the championship as the best player, but Paul had a playoff drawback.
Very recentlySpurs forward Keldon Johnson I happily gave up on the San Antonio third jersey. Johnson switched to No. 0, allowing Paul to keep his third jersey.
According to Paul and Wade, the duo almost became a teammate in Miami to show how crazy this number can be obtained for players. and James, but the plan was ultimately turned down… because they couldn’t decide which one to wear number 3.
Wade says part of the combo I went as follows:
Wade: That’s my number!
Paul: Well, that’s my number. What are we going to do? CP6? No, that’s not the case.
….
Wade: I didn’t go to D-9. I sacrifice getting a touch, I sacrifice getting the most money. But I haven’t given up on my number!
It wasn’t entirely clear that the duo was appearing on the podcast, but Wade asserted that everyone was excited about the possibility of teaming up in South Beach and that they discussed it on the phone.
Number 3 may have been the teenage Miami spent the dynasty.
