Every day, Aaron Rodgers draws stronger and stronger skepticism about his ability to invest in the Pittsburgh Steelers. For weeks he kept them arm length, at least from an outside perspective. He openly states that he is focusing on his personal life. His timeline has reached an important milestone.
The Steelers are opening an OTA this week, and no one seems to expect Aaron Rodgers to appear. Of course, he cannot do without a signed contract. The Steelers make an offer to the table for him, but at this point they’re gathering dust. Former NFL Ol Ross Tucker doesn’t understand how people who really value soccer can act this way.
“I argue that it’s not important enough for him. If it’s important enough for him, he’ll be in Pittsburgh now,” Tucker said of Aaron Rodgers. Kaboly + Mack Podcast. “He was with those guys and was trying to make them have a successful year.”

The Jets released Rogers earlier this offseason. Although several teams expressed interest, the Steelers always seemed to be the most likely option. It looked like Pittsburgh or retirement, especially as alternative options declined.
Tucker doesn’t necessarily mean that Rogers will retire, but he has questioned his willingness to commit to the Steelers and the team. “He would rather be in California,” he said, but he added that he believes Rodgers wants to play and win. “I think he cares about all of that. For me, he doesn’t care enough.”
And ultimately, what it connects is value. Rather than relate to what alternative options this season, Aaron Rodgers represents, how much value does he offer the Steelers? Tucker doesn’t think there will likely be any merits in the riddle game that will require to get there.
“What is the best case scenario? The absolute best case scenario is that they might win a If Rogers leads the Steelers to a playoff victory, it’s pretty much guaranteed since 2016 that’s their tall order and will be in AFC North, especially with the Ravens and Bengals.
“They haven’t broken the bill in Buffalo. They’re not breaking the llama. [Jackson] And Raven. He spoke about the Steelers team led by Aaron Rodgers. It seems like a lot to achieve, but it’s not really that much. It seems like a lot of bending and concession to have them in the same place as ever for a while. ”
The Steelers understand that Aaron Rodgers is not a long-term solution, but his pursuit appears to be aimed simply to check that “Win the Playoff Game” box. Just as tired of Steelers fans having “never had a losing season,” they hope they can’t ultimately say “we haven’t won a playoff game since 2016.”
