Mourners will meet for the funeral on Saturday Melissa HortmanMinnesota lawmakers were killed in an exhibition of political violence that shocked the nation.
Private ceremony will be streamed live at the Minnesota Public Safety Bureau YouTube Page 10:30am (CT).
Hortman, former Democratic chairman of the Minnesota family, and her husband Mark, were shot dead in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and earlier this month, said law enforcement was part of a series of attacks on dozens of state Democratic election officials. Family Dog, a golden retriever named Gilbert, was also seriously injured in the attack and was later euthanized.
The three were placed in the state on Friday at the Minnesota Capitol and were placed in the state for public respect.

Democrat Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette were also shot several miles away by suspected gunmen in Champurin, Minnesota, but the pair survived despite multiple gunshot wounds.
Vance Boerter, the man suspected of carrying out the murder charging He stalked and killed Hoffmann and shot him. Boetler is bound by federal custody.
In a statement Thursday, Beltter’s wife, Jenny, sent sadness to Hortman and Hoffman’s family on behalf of herself and her children.
“We are absolutely shocked, heartbroken and completely blind. This violence is incompatible with our beliefs as a family,” Jenny Belter said in a statement through her lawyer.
“It’s all the betrayals that we are true as a doctrine of the Christian faith,” she said.
Hortman’s assassination is one of the latest attacks on political figures in recent years. In April, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s mansion burned as he and his family slept inside.

To celebrate the Hortmans legacy, Two children of a coupleSophie and Colin suggested that the community connect more with those around them.
“The best way to celebrate parents’ memories is to do something, big or small, to make our community a little better for someone else,” they said.
