5 Min Read

Spoilers Ahead of “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” Season 1, Episode 2.

Episode 1 of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew begins with an attack by some hapless space pirates, but quickly veers away from the action. Most of the episode is spent introducing the central quartet of young men and the secluded world they inhabit, only for them to be sent into hyperspace at the very end.

Meanwhile, Episode 2 will fill the eyes and ears of kids and viewers with galactic wonders and horrors. Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), KB (Killiana Clutter), and Neil (Robert Timothy Smith) adapt to new situations, meet new characters, and explore new locations. Focused on exploring. From the mysterious Onyx Cinder spacecraft and its irritating droid first mate SM-33 (voiced by Nick Frost) to the dastardly space station they eventually arrive at, our heroes explore the Star Wars galaxy. You will experience a new corner. viewer. However, the station offers a familiar face for its most dedicated fans.

One of the pirates who is harassing the children on the space station because of Vim’s mysterious exploits, used to work with Gorian Shard (Nonzo Anozie)’s pirate group, and is trying to shake off Greef Karga. None other than Vayne (Marti Matulis), the spike-faced Nikto who did this. (Carl Weathers) and Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) in season 3 of The Mandalorian. Although he’s not a major character by any means, he’s still a familiar face who has been around the block several times. Is his “Skeleton Crew” appearance just a fun cameo, or is he set up as a crossover character like Paul Seung-Hyun Lee’s Carson Teva, who has played supporting roles in several different Disney+ shows? Only time will tell.

Vayne is one of the hidden punching bags of the Star Wars show

Vayne’s villainy is not on the level of what you would call Darth Vader. The showdown between Greef Karga and Din Djarin in The Mandalorian Season 3 opener, Chapter 17: Renegade, went as expected. His return in “Chapter 21: Pirates” continues as a hapless henchman as Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) and Din’s Mandalorian tribe inflict a total defeat on the Shard forces. However, Vayne appears to have survived, as he abandons a lost battle and goes on a rampage.

The character, who reappeared in Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew Episode 2, appears to continue his role as a designated hapless henchman. As Vane attempts to blackmail the children for credit, SM-33 arrives on the scene and immediately beats him up. However, it appears that Vane is now part of a pirate crew led by Brutus (voiced by Fred Tatasciore), and could be an important link in the grand scheme of things in a galaxy far, far away. He’s also the perfect henchman-type villain for the show “The Skeleton Crew,” which is particularly suited to young “Star Wars” fans. Like the Fratelli family in The Goonies, Vane is suitably inefficient to provide moments of levity, but still intimidating enough to be a viable threat to our heroes.

Most of the characters in “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” are new, but the show also brings back the teak alien race that appeared in the older non-canon film “Ewoks: The Battle of Endor.” Vane’s presence fits well into this mix of new and relatively unknown, and by the end of Season 1 of “The Skeleton Crew,” he’s the only familiar character we see. It will be interesting to see if it continues to be.
