Alexis Ohaniantennis legend serena williamsHer husband detailed his recent health scare in an Instagram post, in which he said he had half of his thyroid removed.
The Reddit co-founder and entrepreneur explained it all in a post posted on Thanksgiving Day…showing a photo of him in a hospital bed in a gown with a wound to his neck and explaining the procedure. “This was done after tracing a suspicious nodule,” he said of his thyroid condition for the past four years. ”
Alexis said the nodule continued to grow over time and the latest biopsy showed it was “very likely to become cancerous,” adding that she wasn’t taking any chances.
Serena’s husband also pointed out Serena’s personal relationship with cancer, saying, “My mother had breast cancer at this age (41) and eventually died of brain cancer about 10 years later. I hate cancer,” he said.
Overall, Alexis says the surgery went well, claiming the worst part was not being able to lift for two weeks. Clearly, it was a small price to pay compared to the risks I was taking before the excision.
Alexis concluded her post by wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving, after encouraging her “friends” to get their health checked, “especially if you’re a father.”
He also included a photo of his 6-year-old children Olympia and 1 year old Adira — in the post…It seems like all he is grateful for this year are his children, his wife Serena, and his health.
