Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Power establishes renewable energy subsidiary Reliance NU Energy and appoints two former Renew Power executives as CEO and COO did.
The subsidiary will focus on solar, wind, hybrid systems and advanced energy storage, the company said in an official release on Tuesday. Mayank Bansal, appointed as the new CEO of Reliance NU Energies, has 25 years of expertise in renewable energy and management consulting. Previously, he served as Group President of ReNew Power’s India RE business, where he led initiatives including a digital transformation recognized by the World Economic Forum and scaling the platform to over 10 GW of operational capacity.
Rakesh Swaroop, appointed COO, has over 17 years of experience in startups and energy. Previously, he served as Vice President and Director of Utilities Operations at ReNew Power and has held leadership roles at PR Clean Energy, Agni Energy, and Siemens Power Engineering.
With a combined 40 years of experience, the two energy sector veterans are developing pumped storage hydropower (PSP) and battery energy storage systems from energy sources such as solar, wind, geothermal, and fixed-rate renewable energy (FDRE). (BESS) was added to the release.
