5 Min Read

Arsenal abandoned Real Madrid from the Champions League with a stunning 2-1 victory at the Bernabéu and sealed off a 5-1 total to set the semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.

Leaded by a talismanic Bukayosaka, he had a great finish at Thibaut Court Core in the second half, and had a penalty from Panenka, saved by the goalkeeper – Arsenal wasted all the stories of Real Madrid’s comeback following the first Leg victory of three goals.

The hosts were brought to life for William Saliba to Vinicius Jr. to get the ball caught up in the ball shortly after Saka’s goal, bringing Real Madrid to equality forward, but Arsenal remained calm before Gabriel Martinelli added a breakaway winner in stoppage time.

The victory is ranked as one of Europe’s greatest in the club, taking part in the last four competitions for the first time since 2009, and is only the third time in history.

In fact, such a result never saw a real danger, thanks to a compiled performance in which Real Madrid left the 15th winner of the competition, the Masters of historic comeback.

Arsenal had to overcome a moment of adversity. Saka’s early penalty mistakes gave the host a psychological boost. Real Madrid received a five-minute var check in the second half and then placed their own overturned fines after Declan Rice was falsely ruled that he had fouled Killian Mbappe.

Home fans felt the possibility of another epic “lemon tada” when Saliba’s error led to an instant equalizer after Saka’s beautifully working opener, but their hopes were short-lived as Arsenal reaffirmed their advantage.

Overall, they were two teams threats, with Saka and Martinelli surpassing Mbappe and Vinicius Jr in the offense, with midfield control Rice, Saliba and Jakubu Kiwior defending the other side of the error in Real Madrid’s goal.

Martinelli’s slow strike followed the fantastic counterattack that David Raya started, and then went home at the level of calm typical of Arsenal’s performance, giving them the deserved victory that night, allowing them to continue to dream of lifting the trophy.
