The round is smaller than the Quantum Machine and Classiq rounds, and recently raised nearly $300 million together, but Qedma is a young company. The current round is a round.
QEDMA is a software company that has developed algorithms that helps overcome the biggest challenges of quantum computing, which is highly error-rich in the basic computing unit, “Qubits” whether it is a trapped ion or photonic computer, or a computer using semiconductors. High error rates, or “noise,” are known in the industry, but are the product of microscope scales in which quantum operation occurs.
To clear the noise of physical qubits, QEDMA uses a mechanism that is carried one after the other based on optimization of measurements carried over time, achieving a level of accuracy above industry average, although computing can be slightly slower. Collaboration with IBM has been going on for four years. QEDMA is one of three companies that have conducted trials on multi-million dollar IBM quantum computers and, together with Finnish companies Algorithmiq and Q-Ctrl, have been granted access to IBM’s quantum operating system. Collaboration with IBM is currently mature in investment.
Dr. Sinay, CEO of QEDMA, believes that the “quantum threshold” will make Quantum computers “clean” enough to allow Quantum computers to perform computing tasks more powerfully than existing supercomputers. “IBM has published its roadmap through 2029, and other companies such as Quantinuum, Quera and IonQ are at a sophisticated stage in the process of being able to see practical quantum applications by 2030.
