One of the persistent concerns in the age of AI is that robots will take our jobs. It remains to be seen how well-founded this concern is, but we are already seeing some displacement in certain areas. Even niche professions are at risk. For example, the world of OnlyFans chatter is already becoming chaotic.
what teeth OnlyFans is chatting? Earlier this year, WIRED published an interesting investigation into the world of gig workers who are paid to impersonate high-income OnlyFans creators in online chats with fans. In the industry, we call them “talkers.”
A big part of OnlyFans’ appeal is that its creators seem to engage directly with their fans, exchanging messages and talking with them, sometimes for hours. Relationship simulation is basically as important to success as stimulation.
Of course, when one creator is responsible for thousands of ongoing DM conversations, there are only so many hours in a day. To combat the flood of sexy messages, it has become common to outsource conversations to “talkers” who are paid to employ real talent.
These chatters were primarily contractors from the Philippines, Pakistan, India, and other countries with significantly lower wage expectations than the United States. But human chatter is increasingly being replaced by AI-generated stand-ins.
Various startups are currently launching sell access They say their business is booming, influencing these AI chats and other generative AI tools.
“A lot of creators were like, ‘There’s a need,'” says Kunal Anand, founder of a startup offering an AI OnlyFans chat service called Chatpersona. “We built our own model using data from chats with many creators.”
Since its launch last year, Chatpersona has around 6,000 customers, both individuals and agencies, according to Anand.
Anand said Chatpersona technically doesn’t violate OnlyFans’ terms of service because it requires a human in the loop to press “send” on messages generated by AI chats. . (Although it has been reported before, OnlyFans bans use of AI chatbot nevertheless Current Terms of Use Don’t mention the AI chatter. )
OnlyFans did not respond to repeated requests for comment.
