Nvidia to cap game streaming hours on GeForce Now instead of raising fees

Nvidia today announced some big changes to its GeForce Now cloud streaming service. Existing Priority memberships are Renamed to Performance1440p streaming, ultrawide resolution support, and the ability to save graphics settings between streaming sessions. Starting January 1, 2025, Nvidia will introduce a 100-hour monthly playtime cap for new Performance or Ultimate GeForce Now members.

New GeForce Now members who sign up for the service in 2025 or later will have a monthly play time cap of 100 hours. This equates to about three hours of usage each month, and NVIDIA says it’s capped to avoid membership price increases in the “foreseeable future.”

“This allows GeForce Now to continue to deliver unparalleled quality and speed, as well as low to no latency, to all paying members without increasing membership fees,” Nvidia said in a blog post. states. “This change will affect less than 6 percent of our membership.”

GeForce Now subscribers can automatically carry over 15 hours of unused time to the next month, but once they reach the 100-hour limit, they can purchase additional play time or upgrade to Basic for the remaining time.
