New York Giants releasing CB Nick McCloud

1 Min Read

The New York Giants are releasing cornerback Nick McLeod, ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reports.

McLeod was claimed off waivers by the Buffalo Bills in August 2022 and appeared in 38 games (16 starts) with Big Blue.

McLeod started five games this season as the Giants were plagued by injuries in the secondary.

As alluded to above, McLeod refused to take a pay cut and the Giants are operating with approximately $3.7 million in cap space and could seek roster additions.

The move will reportedly free up $900,000 in cap space.

The move leaves the Giants with five corners in Deonte Banks, Drew Phillips, Cordale Flotte, Adree’ Jackson and Tre Hawkins III.

Also on the practice squad are Greg Stroman and Art Green.
