With New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones on the bench and several other starters out of the game Sunday afternoon, wide receiver Jarrin Hiatt finally got a chance to stretch the field and make a big play. I found it.
Drew Lock, who replaced Jones, struggled mightily as he saw Hiatt wide open across the sideline.
Lock fired the ball over a trailing Philadelphia Eagles defender, but he coated it with a little too much mustard and narrowly beat the diving Hyatt.
The ball bounced off Hyatt’s fingertips and landed under him as he returned to the field. It was immediately clear that Hyatt was injured.

He was injured on this play. When walking off the field, he prioritized his left arm and did not swing it at all when he landed hard on his left shoulder. I hope he’s okay pic.twitter.com/jjre1b63JR

Post-game X-rays revealed that Hyatt had cracked a rib, the same number of ribs he had broken as a reception that ended an ugly and frustrating sophomore season. It became.
“It was quite an adversity,” Hyatt said. Via NJ Advance Media. “But I’ve been through adversity before and I know how to bounce back from it. Everything looks bad right now, but I’ve been through this before in my football playing career. I’ve been in a situation like this before.
“I know it’s going to turn around and get better. I know how and where my confidence is. I’m still the most confident guy. It’s going to turn around. That’s one thing I’m not worried about. It’s going to turn around.”
It’s unclear how much time Hyatt will miss and when he’ll get his next chance to turn things around.
