Janet Jackson wins the Honorable Icon Award 2025 American Music Awards. This is an honor given to artists whose music has an undeniable cultural and global influence on the music industry. Janet will also take the stage with her first television performance since 2018. Other performers announced include Benson Boone, Blake Shelton, Gloria Estefan, Gwen Stefani, Rainey Wilson and Lenny Lap. The awards, hosted by Jennifer Lopez, will air on CBS on May 26th and stream on Paramount+.
This week, Shakira kicked off her record-breaking North American foot Las Mujeres Ya no lloran World Tour. The run began with a sold-out stadium show in Charlotte, North Carolina, followed by the first show of two sold-out nights at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Shakira holds a record of most dates in the stadium by female artists from a single city in 11 shows in Mexico City.
Live Nation announced $30 ticket to summeran offer that offers fans the opportunity to purchase $30 tickets to more than 1,000 shows in selected Amphitheaters in the US and Canada throughout the season. The first sale begins on May 21, with feature acts including Offspring, Halsey, Nelly, Pierce Zavelle, Avril Lavine, Kesha, Hardy, Dee Arks Bentley, Cyndi Lauper, Kitzbop Kids and Rod Stewart.
Finneas revealed the official music video “2001” From Cryin ‘Out Loud from his album! The video is directed by Claudia Slewski, and Finny stars as a Lovestrock actor who admires the on-screen director played by Kate Hudson. Claudia said, “When I first started conceptualizing this music video, I wanted to be respectful. 2001: Space Odysseynods to some of the film’s most iconic setups like Fisheye Lens and Upside Down Sequences, as well as a small Easter egg from behind the scenes of the film. ”
Megan The Stallion brings an anime world bigger than her life to the Airbnb experience. Fans can watch her Otaku Hottie Quest Experience on June 12th in Los Angeles. ET’s Cassie Dilaura sat down with Megan and teased a big collaboration on upcoming albums, saying she wanted to work with Doechii on new music.
Rihanna has released her new song “My Friend” Smurf movie soundtrack. She will star in the film on July 18th as Smurfett. This is the second song on the soundtrack, following Desi Trill’s “Higher Love,” featuring DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Natania and Subhi.
