“At the end of the day, gamers don’t care what technology powers a game – it just needs to be fun and work perfectly,” Adeniyi Abiodun, chief product officer at Mysten Labs, said in a statement. “SuiPlay0X1 will demonstrate that games that seamlessly incorporate blockchain technology can look and feel just like traditional ‘Web2’ games. We will show gamers around the world that, thanks to blockchain technology, player ownership can provide deeper, more engaging gaming experiences without getting in the way of their fun.”

At launch, SuiPlay0X1 will be able to play PC games across multiple platforms, including existing titles from Epic Games and Steam that are compatible with the device. Additionally, the device will be home to Sui-powered games such as Xociety, a pop-shooter featuring RPG elements, dynamic PvP and an immersive PvE experience, and Dark Times, a free-to-play, Nordic-inspired medieval brawler royale with a physics-based combat system.
