The country music singer recently appeared in Cosmopolitan magazine’s “Cheap Shot” series to address the speculation surrounding the wardrobe incident that had everyone talking back in July.

“Yes, against my will, a video was circulated recently of me wearing a denim skirt with a large slit in it. I was wearing underwear – it was nude underwear – and it looked like my entire genitals were sticking out,” she said. People Magazine.

Aside from the commando rumours, some have accused the act of being a publicity stunt – something Morris said was also false, before calling the moment “a bit symbolic”.

“I actually had a wardrobe malfunction with the skirt before this one, so this was kind of a back-up option,” she explained. “I was like, ‘I definitely need to wear underwear with this.’ If I wore fluorescent underwear, everyone would know I was wearing it, but you learn from experience.”

These latest comments come just weeks after she casually poked fun at the video. The 34-year-old “Middle” singer posted the video on TikTok, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s hit song “WAP” shows that she’s not afraid to laugh at herself, even after a wardrobe fail.

“Hey guys anything weird happening today?” she wrote on the video, captioning it, “Maybe I should put my skirt in a frame.”

The video received praise from her fans.
