Luke Littler suffers last-16 exit at Players Championship 12 | Darts News

2 Min Read

Richie Edhouse abandoned world champion Luke Littler from Player Championship 12 in a dramatic final 16 finish.

The British defeated their 18-year-old compatriot 6-5 and booked a quarter-final showdown with Dutch Jean Van Veen with a tense leg conclusion to be decided at Leicester’s Matio Liarina.

As Littler hit a double 5 instead of a double top and attempted a 120 checkout to get World No. 26 Edhouse to a top finish, he officially mandated the duty to go on his first darts.

The teenagers had previously recovered from a 4-1 deficit and led 5-4, but were unable to close the game.

Edhouse was joined in the final eight by Northern Ireland’s Josh Locke, who defeated Danny Knoppert 6-3 after hitting a nine-dirt finish in a three-round victory at Matt Campbell.

Elsewhere, Ian White heads straight to Luke Woodhouse, while Johnny Clayton plays Gelwin Price.
