Sad news from Hollywood this week:
David Hekili Kenui Bell, the actor who currently plays a role in the live-action version of Lilo & Stitch, has passed away.
The tragic development was confirmed in a long and emotional Facebook post on Sunday by Bell’s sister Jalane.

Jarene writes that it is a heavy heart I share that my sweet, generous, talented, entertaining, brilliant, handsome little brother David HK Bell spends today in our Heavenly Father’s company.
“I was waiting for words and thoughts to properly express human joy, and he was a prince of a man’s prince, but fate pushed my hand this morning with a pre-scheduled Father’s Day newsletter honoring the men in our lives.”
Jalane looked back on the pair’s bond and how she treated her family to Kapolei’s Lilo & Stitch opening night just two weeks ago.
The actor’s final outing with his loved ones is watching fans on full stitch gear after the film’s premiere, sharing popcorn and dreaming of shave ice.

I concluded Jalene:
“Hold your loved ones today… For the last time I returned home from the movie, I was sitting on the sofa in my living room talking about life.
Bell appeared in the past in two episodes of Magnum PI and one of Hawaiian episodes 5-0.
“This is heartbreaking and sad. He is one of my greatest talents and embodied the true meaning of Aloha… a gentle giant,” a representative for Lashauna Downey wrote online.
The cause of death has not been confirmed yet.
We express our sadness to David Hekiri Kenui Bell’s friends, family and loved ones. May he rest in peace.
