Liad Agmon leaves Insight Partners to found startup

3 Min Read

Liad Agmon has quit his job as a partner at US venture capital firm Insight Partners to find new startups. According to a press release this morning, “He will become a senior advisor to the company and continue to work on the board of directors of the portfolio company.”

Agumon was a partner at Insight Partners Israel along with Daniel Aronowitz, who founded the Israeli office. Agmon has led investments in six companies: QBIQ, DataFy, Briya Health, Visual Layer, Canditech and Wenrix, and inherits companies that their insight partners have already invested in.

Agmon is expected to remain on the board of directors of all these companies, in addition to his role in companies he personally invested in, including V-Corals from Coral Restoration Company. Agumon also took over the fund’s long-standing investment in Jungko. This was exposed as fraud and was closed soon after. He was appointed to the position towards the end of the Covid Pandemic Bubble in December 2021, and in 2023 he was one of the leaders of the fund’s famous protests against judicial reform in the Israeli government.

Agmon told Insight Partner about his plans to step down at the end of 2024, but now he said, “Israel is increasingly stable and the resilience demonstrated by Insight’s portfolio companies, all parties feel it will take effect in the second half of 2025.”

Having spent most of his life as a serial entrepreneur rather than an investor, Agumon is expected to launch another company after two companies he has established in the past: the dynamic yields of a veteran cybersecurity company and a data company. Previously, the Delver he founded and sold at Sears was sold for a more modest profit.

“Liad has always been burning entrepreneurial fires and from the start, perhaps he’d come back to the world of entrepreneurship at some point,” said Jeff Horing, managing partner and founder of Insight Partners.
