But they can do what the Pacers (18th on NBA salary) and the Thunder (25th) did.

LeBron James praised Tyrese Halliburton’s character on Wednesday’s episode of his “Mind the Game” podcast, explaining that he is a positive presence across Team USA’s gold medal run in Paris. “Just a great guy, a man. A great kid,” James said. “It didn’t matter if he had the opportunity, he was the same guy every day. It turns out that his mainframe was immersed in all the knowledge and details that surround us all. He was very grateful every day. He never changed his mood. ” -via Score / June 4, 2025
Dwight Howard: “We had to combine it all and hand it over to LeBron James. On the scoring front, I started to say I like Kobe Bryant. If the game is late, I’m giving the ball to Kobe. I’m not going to give LeBron the ball later in the game. I’ll hand it over to Kobe. -via YouTube / June 4, 2025

“You have to change your way of thinking because you’re a guard, a man for your lifetime and then you have to come in and become a role player,” Wallace told Athletic. “But when you come in every day and see everyone get into their roles, you know that being a role player isn’t bad. You can be a high-level player, but as long as you do the job, that’s what you need to win.” He has an example right in the vicinity. Dort and Caruso have built a career that is beneficial and appreciated within that mold. Dort said the two had a conversation about the path. Wallace noticed. “No one can become a man,” Wallace said. “What we all need to win is the way we all have. That winning mindset will be paid to you.” -via New York Times / June 4, 2025
