The answer may appear sooner or later. Ball’s availability for the Hornets’ matchup with Philadelphia at Spectrum Center is questionable, but the game was added to the schedule because neither team has advanced to the final round of the NBA Cup. Ball has been sidelined with left calf pain since Nov. 27, when he felt something on the final play of the Hornets’ loss to Miami. He has missed the past seven games and needs to check one more box to be officially considered ready to return. “I feel fine,” Ball said. “We’ll probably just do shootarounds and see how things go in pregame warmups.” -via charlotte observer / December 16, 2024

LaMelo Ball pondered that question as he dug through his memories, pondering something that would spark enthusiasm for the Charlotte Hornets. It wasn’t often that Ball would be seen on the floor with Miles Bridges, Brandon Miller and Mark Williams forming a formidable quartet during a game. Certainly not as much as Hornets officials would like. “It’s been less than a minute, so I don’t even know,” Ball said Monday. “We’re going to go see it. We’re going to go see it.” -via charlotte observer / December 16, 2024

Rod Boone: LaMelo Ball (left calf) is questionable for tomorrow’s game against Philadelphia. He has missed the last seven games with an injury and hasn’t played since Nov. 27. Tre Man (disc inflammation) is still out. -via Twitter @rodboone / December 15, 2024
