More legal trouble is on the way for the Chrisley family.
With his father serving time in prison for various financial fraud charges, Kyle Chrisley was arrested on September 9th and charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
New details about the incident are now available.
According to a police report from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, a 33-year-old man – Todd Chrisley and his ex-wife, Teresa – and his wife were involved in an argument with a mechanic over money.
After the man confronted them about that and the house, Kyle claims the mechanic crashed into his wife’s parked car, ran down the street, then returned and began yelling at Chrisley.
The mechanic, on the other hand, claims he simply knocked on Kyle’s door, only for Kyle to end up stabbing him in the arm with a knife.
A court hearing to determine what happened and what will happen next is scheduled for December, but Kyle posted a photo on social media of officers pinning him to the ground and handcuffing him.
“So let me be clear – the same man who has been threatening me for months, trying to extort money from me, saying he will ruin me if I don’t pay, is now threatening my kids, my wife, threatening to destroy my truck, coming to my house, reaching for me, trying to extort money from me, threatening me,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Are you not allowed to defend yourself or your property? He then purposely crashes into my wife’s car while yelling, ‘I’m coming back, I’ll protect you.'”
Chrisley wasn’t done defending himself either.
“Maybe it’s because of my last name. Rutherford County loves fame, so I think they saw this as an opportunity to do just that,” Kyle told Us Weekly.
“I also think it would be very easy for this guy to make up a story knowing that I have already been the victim of a similar incident, especially knowing that he came to my house, caused property damage and openly indicated he intended to run me over with his car.”
In March 2023, Kyle was also arrested for “felony aggravated assault” and released on $3,000 bail.
However, prosecutors dismissed the charges before trial.
Chrisley lost custody of his daughter Chloe, who was adopted by Todd and Julie, in 2016 due to drug addiction and other sensitive personal issues.
“I’ve never been great at talking about my struggles but lately I’ve seen so many people suffering… so I’m sharing my story to let as many people as possible know that there is another side to pain,” Kyle wrote on Instagram in December 2022.
“3 [years] A few years ago, I attempted suicide. … For years, I struggled with self-esteem. I never felt like I belonged and I never felt like I was enough.”
