As we wrap up the last part of the year, here are some useful journal openings.
Hello friends! Happy Wednesday! What are you planning to do this week? My new niece is coming this week and I can’t wait! I’m looking forward to making meals for her 🙂
Today I want to talk about something that changed my morning routine: journaling. I’d always heard people talk about it, but never wanted to try it because it seemed awkward and uncomfortable. Just… write? What would I write about? What if it’s not good? What if someone reads it and wonders what’s wrong with this person? I was nervous about writing something so effortlessly without the ability to brainstorm, strategize, or delete.
But during a period of time I can’t name, something changed. I developed a need to get my thoughts out on paper. I stopped worrying if they were good or perfect, and instead used it as a mental dump because my head was full of thoughts. It gave me clarity and peace, and ever since then I’ve used it as part of my morning routine.
Typically, my morning routine looks something like this (sometimes I do them all, sometimes I split them up throughout the day, sometimes I just do one):
My Morning Routine
Probiotics And a big glass of water
My Meditation PEMF Go Mat (Code is FITNESSISTA15) Listen to 7 minutes of binaural beats on Spotify
10-15 minutes of daily devotion/bible study and prayer, listening to worship music on Spotify
Spend 5-10 minutes writing in your journal about your goals, thoughts in your head, and where you see yourself in the future. Write these things as if they have already happened. When you look back at what you wrote in 2020, you will see that everything has come true, even the things that seemed completely impossible.
After this, I have breakfast (usually Daily Nutrition I’ll have some Truvani protein pudding (Nazzo) topped with berries and hemp seeds, some supplements, make some coffee, and get to work.
**Feel free to adjust the routine according to your own beliefs and goals, and get ready for a peaceful and energized day.
Journaling tips to use this fall
If you’re stuck on the journal writing part, here are some tips to help you.
Reflect on your spiritual growth this year.
What lessons did you learn and how did it shape your beliefs and values? How are you different now than you were at the beginning of this year?
What are three goals you would like to achieve before the year is over?
Write about how you plan to work towards achieving your goals and the steps you will take to achieve them. Write as if these goals have already been achieved and write about the struggles you faced to achieve your goals and how you dealt with these obstacles.
Visualize your dream life.
Describe the situation, your relationships, your daily habits, and more in detail. Write as if it has already happened. How can you deal with this reality now? Make a plan of action.
What spiritual practice makes you feel most calm?
How can you incorporate more of this into your daily life? What brings you peace and calm? What strategies do you want to use every day?
Write a letter to your future self one year from now.
What advice would you give to yourself? What accomplishments do you hope to achieve? Write these things down and celebrate them as if they have already happened.
What limiting beliefs are preventing you from achieving your goals?
Explore ways to shift your mindset to one of abundance and possibility. Write down the limiting beliefs that are holding you back and how you can overcome them.
Set your intentions according to the season.
How do you want to feel as fall and the holidays progress? What actions can you take to align with this intention?
How do you foster spiritual connection during stressful times?
What rituals or habits can help you become more spiritual this fall? Maybe it’s attending church, Bible study, spending time in nature, meditating, reading, or whatever works for you.
What signs do you receive when you are on the right path?
Think back to recent events or synchronicities that support your goal. Have things worked out when they seemed hopeless?
Write about a personal goal you’ve been putting off.
Why haven’t you started yet, and how will it feel when you finally make progress? How can you take the first step? Create a workable action plan.
What is your morning routine like? What do you usually include in your daily schedule? Do you like to keep a journal or not?
