An article about Jackie Robinson’s military career has been restored to the Department of Defense website. It reminds us that we can defeat racist rights.

Rachel Robinson, the wife of Jackie Robinson, a professor, nurse, activist and baseball pioneer Jackie Robinson, is still together at age 102. This month, the Ministry of Defense It has been deleted It details Jackie Robinson’s military history of World War II, replacing it with the letter “dei” in the URL with the error page. Perhaps the most upsetting part of it is that Rachel Robinson has lived to see the name of her late husband surrendering to a new round of white supremacists 78 years after breaking the colour barrier in Major League Baseball.
“Dei” has become the Trump administration’s all-purpose term for demonizing what promotes the history and experience of black and brown people. In this regard, its use is particularly dull. It’s a racial slur. Former Fox News host Pete Hegses had sent an undeniable message that Robinson’s achievements were fraudulent and highly regarded only because of his skin color. Robinson was not the only target of Fujirado in Hegses’ racism. Famous Articles Navajo Code TalkersThose who are commemorated in books and films have been defeated, not only for legendary commemorations Tuskegee Airmen. Everything has been erased and there is a DEI error page in that location.
Naturally, the waves of anger followed by media coverage, surrounding this brave insulting insult to the insulting Robinson. DOD retorts from ABC News to all reporters, and my anger deepens progressive It was the same email that seemed to have been cut and pasted from a fascist YouTube transcript. The statement said celebrating the achievements of people of color (like Robinson) is an example of something the military now opposes. “Cultural Marxism.”
Current Issues
To many, this certainly sounded like unpleasant nonsense. But this phrase is even more difficult. “Cultural Marxism” was the far right code for Jewish conspiracies, especially in the darkest corners of online media and Nazi message boards. As an anti-Semitic slur, it can be traced back to Germany in the 1920s before our online world. It is an instigation against American Jews who denounce the weakening of the US military through a master plan to celebrate Jackie Robinson. (I never said that prejudice makes no sense.) The accidental use of phrases is yet another example of the fact that this is anti-Semitic control and trusts “to fight anti-Semitism.”
When “cultural Marxism” was proposed as a pseudo-intelligence, Gobdrigok’s reasoning, for Robinson’s expulsion, the perplexed rage grew to the Dodd of Hegses, even on the ESPN homepage. I’ve been buckled Robinson’s page has been restored. The bright light on DoD’s new politics revealed that it had been taken away from the Jasmine cower and magically reappeared in the aforementioned tribute Codetalker and Tuskegee airlines.
This may not sound very much, especially in the climate Where people disappear Thought crimes against US foreign policy. But I would argue that even in this oppressive climate we need to be desperately reminded that we can beat them. Like bullies, they only project strength when we think we are weak.
Don’t follow the light of branding this DOD as a white supremacist. After all, Robinson was a Republican. When GOP was about to become racist as a cure for Mitt Romney’s 2012 loss (they didn’t stick to that strategy for a very long time), they produced material highlighting “famous black Republicans,” and Robinson was the forefront and center. Certainly, the RNC ruled out that he was a centralist “Rockefeller Republican” who likened the 1964 GOP treaty that nominated Barry Goldwater in a state of backlash. At the Nazi rally, But he was still a Republican.
What’s clear is that Heggs and his friends had not erased Robinson because it was intimately close to his blackness, as well as his blackness. It’s a life story shaped by Jim Crow and the reality of apartheid in America. Robinson once said that if he had to choose between the baseball hall of fame and full citizenship for his people, he would choose citizenship. To erase this story is not only a whitewashing past sins, but a statement about who can assert the mantle of the present “citizens.” Or maybe Hegus and his friends are still upset about who won World War II.
What DOD had to backtrack must argue as both a victory and a reminder of who these people are. Jonathan Coleman, author of essential books A Long Road: Black and White in America, “In the legal world, when something is said, even if it is later determined unacceptable, your lawyer will argue that you cannot “unleash the bell.” For Jackie Robinson, the “restoration” is too little and the damage has already been done. ”
Robinson once said that when he saw the decals of an American flag on his truck, he knew that “that person is not my friend.” Hegseth is “that person.” The Secretary of Defense and his likeness are the kind of individuals who didn’t keep Robinson out of major league baseball. They chose the side, and that’s not the Jackie Robinson side. I feel Rachel Robinson and I am sure I am not alone. But she faces a bigger bully than this. We need to remember it and know that we can do the same.
Donald Trump’s cruel and confusing second terminology is just beginning. In his first month back in the office, Trump and his lucky Elon Musk (or is that the other way around?) proved that they were not safe from unidentified power and sacrifices at the altar of wealth.
