World leaders attended the first session of CII Partnership Summit 2024 in the capital. The trade ministers of Italy, Israel, Bhutan, Bahrain, Algeria, Nepal, Senegal, South Africa, Myanmar and Qatar and the secretary of state of the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce will be the partner countries for the summit.
In an interview with IANS, Lyonpo Namgyal Dorji, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Employment, Royal Government of Bhutan, said, “India is growing as an economic powerhouse.Many foreign investment companies are growing in India and are moving to this region. “There is growing interest in it,” he said. As Bhutan increasingly attracts foreign direct investment (FDI) in renewable energy, IT-enabled services and hospitality, we are here to join the hands of that network. ”
Serigne Gueye Diop, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Senegal, said, “Last year, India was one of the leaders in economic investment, both globally, in my country Senegal, and in Africa. “We believe we are leading the way in economic investment.” It is a gateway for investment into Africa, as well as a very strong partner in technology, IT and artificial intelligence. ”
He added that Senegal currently has over 100 companies investing in India.
“We believe that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, more will happen in terms of co-investments, both in the economy and in technology,” he added.

He referred to strengthening partner countries’ economies and stressed the need for liquidity to ensure financial stability to finance the future. Elaborating further, the Minister pointed out that there is a need to think more deeply about mobility linked to lifestyle.
