There’s already high hopes and expectations building for the 2024 WNBA season. But until then, attention will be focused on training camps and the final roster composition.

Whether you’re a new fan just starting out in training camp or an OG who needs a refresher, here’s everything you need to know about training camp, including who will be selected to the training camp roster, roster cuts, and more.

The regular season begins on May 14th.


When training camp begins:

Training camp is scheduled to begin on April 28. Players will now need to focus and prepare for the preseason, which begins on May 3.

This year’s WNBA draft picks, current players and players who have been invited to camps are arriving and beginning training with their respective teams, all of whom are competing for positions.

Who is on the training camp roster?

Teams have already begun announcing their training camp rosters, which we will update below.

What happens next?

As Atlanta Dream’s Laetitia Amihere shared on TikTok, not everyone will make it onto an official team roster. There are 144 roster spots available league-wide, with up to 12 available for each of the 12 teams.

The final roster cut date is May 13th.

What if my favorite gets cut?

Just because a player is cut from the roster doesn’t mean their basketball dreams are over, or that you should stop cheering for your favorite player. Some players choose to go overseas, and some are under difficult contracts even after the regular season has started.
