Haley Elbert Countdown of the top 20 things she loves about her husband Derek Huff In honor of his 40th birthday.
“Happy 40th birthday to my favorite person so far,” wrote 30-year-old Elbert via Instagram Saturday, May 17th.
Elbert pointed out a special meaning of Dance with the stars Professional birthday by listing some of her husband’s greatest qualities. (She wanted to make a top 40 countdown, but wrote, “I think I’ll have to do that, as Instagram only allows 20.”
At the top of the list was Huff’s “sense of adventure” and “sweetness”, as well as his “constant” energy and “very thoughtful.”
“Your talent is out of this world. You are a true creative genius,” she writes. “You rekindled my spark for your performance, and I love you endlessly for that.”
Elbert shared some of Huff’s quirkier habits, like his “impulse to sign” [his] Name/initial everywhere. ”
“It’s weird, but it’s cute,” she said. “You’re a real weirdo 🫠 and you make me laugh every day.”
More seriously, Elbert thanked his spouse for his ability to “find light at every moment, even when not very big,” and praised his “love for our baby.” [pets]. ”

Huff was clearly moved when he answered the post to thank his “beautiful warrior wife.” Many of the couple’s friends followed up with their birthday messages.

He joked, “For the past five years I’ve been looking in the bathroom mirror and saying to @hayley.erbert, “Not bad for 40!” She always laughed, reminding me, “You’re not 40, you can’t say that.” Well, today is the day I can officially say: “Hey, not bad for 40.”
Huff was by his wife’s abdomen while waiting to be on stage on the couple’s “Symphony of Dance” tour in Washington, DC in December 2023. dwts Pro believes in Elbert and his sister Julian Huff Staying positive throughout the recovery process gave him the power to support his spouse.
“I remember calling Julian because I was hysterical. [as Hayley had surgery]and she calms me down and says, ‘You need to talk to her,'” Derek recalled, fighting back tears. And that was the only moment I felt a sense of control. I was like, “OK, I’m here with you.” ”
Haley added. “It clearly has him by my side and has our family and our friends. [got me through it]. I remember what Derek said [to me]”Honey, there are a lot of people who are thinking about you. Lots of people are sending you love and prayers.”
“It was actually the first time I started crying,” she recalls. “I woke up and said, ‘You didn’t even need to tell me that. I can feel it.’ I felt this overwhelming sense of love and light.
The couple tied the knot together for eight years in August 2023. They met when Haley joined Derek and Julianne on the 2014 “Move Live” tour.
