GST Collection updated March 2025: The government’s total goods and services (GST) collection was Rs 1.96 crore in March, marking the second highest monthly number since the indirect tax regime began, with an increase of 9.9% over the corresponding period a year ago. The monthly collection was second only to the Rs 2.10 milestone recorded in April 2024. Currently, the government publishes data on central and state-level collections under monthly taxation system.
Here are some important things to know about the latest monthly GST reports:
- The amount collected in the form of cess was Rs 12,253 in March.
- Total refunds were 19,615 Rs last month, an increase of about 41% year-on-year.
- Net Month GST revenues rose by around 7.3% in March 2025 to Rs 1.76 crore. Net revenue is calculated after the government adjusts the money it pays in the form of a refund.
- The total collection for the fiscal year 2024-25, which ended on March 31, rose 9.4% to Rs 22.08 lakh.
- Of the overall collection, the Central GST (CGST) collection was recorded at Rs 38,100, while the State GST (SGST) collection was a GST collection (IGST) that was integrated at Rs 49,900 crores and at Rs 95,900 crores.
