FPIs Stay Net Sellers For 10th Consecutive Day; Offload Stocks Worth Rs 24,044 Crore

So far in December, FPIs have sold shares worth Rs 12,337.26 crore and DIIs have bought shares worth Rs 29,648 crore. Foreign investors sold shares worth Rs 45,974.12 crore in November, while domestic institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 44,483.86 crore.

FPIs have net sold Indian equities worth Rs 2.98 billion so far this calendar year, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange compiled by NDTV Profit. Meanwhile, DII bought shares worth Rs 5.26 billion.

However, foreign institutional investors have made net purchases of Indian stocks worth Rs 2,026 crore so far in 2024, according to National Securities Depository Ltd. data updated by the previous business day.

Benchmark stock indexes eroded early gains in late trading and ended lower on Monday. Broader weakness across Asia and Europe is also weighing on the index.

The NSE Nifty 50 fell by 168.50 points or 0.71% to close at 23,644.90, while the BSE Sensex fell by 450.94 points or 0.57% to close at 78,248.13.

In the final session, Nifty fell 0.90% to an intraday low of 23,599.30, while Sensex fell 0.79% to an intraday low of 78,077.13. Earlier in the day, Nifty rose 0.43% to 23,915.35 and Sensex rose 0.50% to the day’s high of 79,092.70.
