Chapter 2 Remix makes its debut in Fortnite Battle Royale, opening with a real-life musical event in Times Square and an in-game prelude.
The musical event featured appearances by Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Ice Spice, and the late Juice WRLD. This event takes Fortnite’s global entertainment to a new level with a massive takeover of New York’s Times Square. (I went to the Nasdaq Tower in Times Square again this week.) The past year has been tough for the gaming industry, but there’s no denying gaming’s growth in global entertainment culture.
Last night, Fortnite, Ice Spice, and Snoop Dogg performed in Times Square, creating a stunning combination of sound and visuals. At the same time, the event was livestreamed on Fortnite, immersing players into an immersive cityscape to experience the concert firsthand, complete with a surprise preview of Snoop’s new song “Gorgeous” from his upcoming album.
The event, dubbed Remix: The Prelude, kicks off a month of music and gaming that connects the real world with Fortnite with the next season of Fortnite Battle Royale, Chapter 2 Remix, which begins today.
The Chapter 2 remix features musicians Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Ice Spice, and Juice WRLD, bringing their fashion, music, and artistry to Fortnite, along with the original Fortnite gameplay that was popular in 2020.
In a first for Fortnite, players will be able to interact with each artist through themed gameplay locations launched each week. Players can also express themselves and represent each music legend through individual artist costumes found in the Fortnite Shop.
Chapter 2 Remix will conclude with a special live event, Remix: The Finale, on November 30th at 11am PT. To celebrate Juice’s accomplishments and love for Fortnite, all players who log in between November 29th at 10pm and November 30th at 10pm will receive a cel-shaded Slayer Juice Wrld costume .
“Jarad has always loved playing Fortnite. For him it was not just entertainment, but a way to connect with others. From an early age, video games were a great way for him to bond with friends and family. , and joining Fortnite is an incredible tribute to that connection, Jarad “Juice WRLD” Higgins’ mother, Carmela Wallace, said in a statement.
Juice WRLD died in an accident earlier this year.
Later this week, Snoop Dogg will join Fortnite Battle Royale as an icon in Season 6 of the music-driven, rhythm-based game Fortnite Festival.
“Being in Fortnite means creating, performing, and sharing your music and culture with the next generation. My son Cordell is a big Fortnite player, along with me, so when I had the chance , I jumped at it as a new way to connect with my sound and style. Anyone can be Snoop on ‘Fortnite,”’ Snoop Dogg said in a statement.
During the week of November 7th, Eminem reappear After making its original Fortnite debut in December 2023.
“Guess who’s back and ready for battle, hey! We’re giving you all the new gear along with spaghetti…come and eat! Feels good to be back in Fortnite for more mayhem ,” Eminem said in a statement.
And the week of November 14th, Ice Spice will arrive to give you a taste of what it’s like to be a New York princess.
“Coming to the game and having the opportunity to remix the Chapter 2 map is surreal. It’s exciting to be a part of something so iconic and I can’t wait for players to experience this new atmosphere.” “Fortnite is all about creativity and connection, and I’m excited to put my own spin on it,” Ice Spice said in a statement.
And the week of Nov. 21, Juice WRLD’s heritage, music and style will be celebrated.
This season also introduces Kicks, a new cosmetic coming to Fortnite. The initial Kicks lineup features Nike and Jordan branding as well as original Fortnite designs, with more brands to be announced in the future. The first Jordan will be available starting November 12th as part of the Season Remix Pass.
Chapter 2 Remix is a nostalgic new take on the Fortnite Battle Royale season that will remind players of the original Chapter 2. Chapter 2 Remix comes nearly a year after Fortnite OG launched, and Fortnite surpassed 100 million players in the same month.
