FirstCry shares tumble over 4% after GST department initiates investigation

Shares of FirstCry, run by Brainbeads Solutions, fell 4.5% on the BSE issue, ending the day after the company announced that the GST department in Mumbai had launched an investigation at the company’s headquarters and warehouse in Pune. The low was 597.80 rupees.

“We wish to inform you that the Additional Commissioner of Taxes, Mumbai, initiated a search/inspection at our headquarters in Pune and one of our warehouses in Bamboli, Maharashtra on November 6, 2024.We are cooperating with the authorities. “We are responding to all clarifications and details requested by the authorities,” the company said in an exchange filing.

The company also assured that the investigation has not affected its operations and normal business activities are continuing as usual.

According to filings shared with stock exchanges, the inspection was initiated by the GST department on November 6, but the agency is yet to share details with the company regarding the violations committed or allegedly committed by FirstCry. Not yet.

In a separate filing with the exchanges today, the company notified that its board of directors will meet on November 14 to review and approve its second quarter results.

“This is to inform you that our board of directors is scheduled to meet on Thursday, November 14, 2024, to, among other things, consider and approve our unaudited financial results (single and consolidated).” “For the quarter and six months ending September 30, 2024,” the application states.

According to BSE analysis, Far’s Cry shares have fallen 4.2% in the past month and 6% in the past two weeks.
