Rather than complying with an order that several prosecutors dismissed the lawsuit, the US Department of Justice wrote about a political corruption case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams despite the intensifying disruption in the department after he resigned. He asked for it to be rejected on Friday.
At least seven prosecutors have resigned in New York and Washington. This list includes Daniel Sasson, a US lawyer for the Southern District of New York. He said she was baffled by the idea of leaving such a strong case when her office was planning a new accusation against Adams. Five lawyers tied to the Washington, D.C. Public Integrity Unit also resigned rather than carrying out an order waived the Adams case.

This was followed by a resignation letter that sent shockwaves through the legal community. Prosecutor Hagan Scotten won two bronze medals for his military service and secretary for Secretary John Roberts, but wrote that he had no negative views on the Trump administration. Masu. However, he said prosecutors know that law and tradition do not allow them to rely on elected officials using the immense power of the Department of Justice.
“In the end, we hope to find someone who is a fool or a cowardly enough to submit your move,” Scotten wrote in his letter. “But it never became me.”
Former justice officials were stubborn
Former Justice Department veterans, including Republicans, are eager to develop this development.
They are furious at Emil Bove, the second division of the division, who was Trump’s defense attorney, after being handed over heavily to prosecutors in New York and Washington. One former official said the scandal was worse than Watergate.
Another former official asked, “What kind of political appointees will work for this Department of Justice now?”

The man at the heart of the fallout
Adams, a man at the heart of the fallout, was charged with corruption last year with a trial scheduled for April. He was charged with conspiracy, bribery, wire fraud and solicitation of contributions from foreigners. He pleads not guilty.
Adams’ attorneys completely rejected the idea that the mayor had a contract with the Department of Justice. There, Adams will go with strict immigration tactics and the Justice Department will now file a lawsuit against him.
However, since the election, Adams has been doing a comfortable work with President Trump, and on Friday he pledged to cooperate with the Trump administration’s strict immigration enforcement strategy. Adams appeared Fox and friends It appeared Friday morning, along with Trump’s border emperor Tom Homan, to discuss an agreement that New York prosecutors flagged as a huge legal and ethical issue.
“If he doesn’t get through, I’ll come back to New York City and we won’t be sitting on the couch.” The agreement we came in? “Homan said.
Adams replied: “We intend to provide it for the safety of the people of this city.”
Ultimately, it’s not up to the Department of Justice to dismiss the case against Adams. That’s what Judge Dale Ho has to do. A judge may want to hold a hearing first. There you can place some of these Justice Department officials on the spot where they were dealing with Adams.
