Elon Musk and OpenAI head to court to spar over nonprofit conversion

Auckland, California (Reuters) -Alon Mask and Chat Maker Open Lawyers put their ass on the buttocks in court on Tuesday.

The Musk’s demand for blocking Openai’s consolidation is the latest movement of the GR game with the world’s most wealthy person and Openai CEO Sam Altman, which is open to court.

The hearing is held in the US Federal Court in the northern part of California.

The mask was jointly established with Altman in 2015, but left before the company took off and then established an AI startup XAI in 2023.

Openai is currently trying to shift from non -profit organizations to profit entities. This states that it is necessary to secure the capital necessary to develop the best artificial intelligence model.

Last year, the mask filed a lawsuit against Openai and Altman, and the founder of Openai originally approached him to provide funds to non -profit organizations focusing on the development of AI to benefit humanity. He said he is now focusing on making money.

He later expanded the lawsuit to add the Federal Exclusive Law and other claims, and in December he sought a judge to SIGHT to stop the transition to a profitable organization.

In response to Musk’s lawsuit, Openai moved to reject MUSK’s claim, and MUSK said, “We should compete in the market, not court.”

Openai’s last financing round is $ 6.6 billion, and a new round of $ 25 billion, which has been discussed with SoftBank, is conditionally conditioned for the company’s restructuring to delete non -profit organizations. The interests of corporate transition are currently escalating.

Such a reorganization is very unusual, said Rose Chanlui, an executive director of UCLA’s charity and non -profit organizations. She said that non -profit organizations for profit organizations were historically for medical institutions like hospitals, not venture capital companies.
