The New York Giants returned to practice Wednesday afternoon in preparation for their Week 14 game against the New Orleans Saints at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Before taking the field, head coach Brian Daboll took to the podium and spoke with reporters.
Among Daboll’s revelations was that quarterback Tommy DeVito is still battling a forearm injury and Drew Lock will start Sunday. The coach wasn’t willing to commit to DeVito playing as a backup.
The Giants also designated linebacker Deyontae Johnson to return from injured reserve (IR). He returned to practice on Wednesday, officially opening his 21-day window.
Daboll also shared ominous news regarding a number of other players, including offensive tackle Jermaine Elemunor, who all have a chance to play against the Saints, but virtually for the remainder of the season. He said it should be considered “on a weekly basis.”
“I would say every week,” Daboll said of injured players. “I think they all have a chance, but I think it’s too early to tell how optimistic I am.”
If El Emnor and right tackle Evan Neal are unavailable Sunday, Chris Hubbard and Joshua Ezeudu will start.
