After a two-week break, “SNL” returned with a parody centered on real-life controversies, including a mix-up of a secret group chat.

Parody hits Pete Hegses with a drinking jab over “Fox News” rumours
When did things escalate Bowen Yangplayed and joined JD Vance, and the two began to hint that Hegseth was drinking at work.
“Well, I’m going to get worse and celebrate myself, Jack and Cora. Yang replied, “No, I promised I’d stop drinking when I got work, but they’re saying it in AA, it’s just fine.”
The joke referenced Heggs’ confirmation hearing, during which he pledged not to take office following his previous allegations that he appears to be drunk on air on “Fox News.”

Later in the episode, in the “Weekend Update” segment, Colin Jost took another jab, saying, “I saw Defense Secretary Pete Hegses accusing days after his last drink.”
He added, “Life is like a box of wine except for Heggs,” drawing comparisons to “Forest Gump.”
The responses from the viewers were quickly split. Many have denounced the show for creating what they saw as an unfounded personal attack.
