Ideally, the Clippers would have kept Tucker on the team until the winter, when the trade market presents more realistic options. Tucker’s high salary could help the Clippers close the deal. However, Tucker’s trade value is very limited, so the Clippers would definitely need assets to move him. The Clippers aren’t without weaknesses. The offense lacks a consistent shooting threat and no reliable backup center, especially with Leonard out indefinitely rehabbing his right knee. New signing Mo Bamba missed scrimmage and the preseason opener with a sore left knee, and 2021 first-round pick Kai Jones must remain with the team after appearing in zero NBA games last season. . -via new york times / October 7, 2024
