It was so much fun photographing our home during the holidays! Now that video content has become mainstream, we no longer take photos with large high-end cameras and have forgotten how much fun it is. Last year I stopped taking pictures and sending holiday cards because I got a little too busy with my impending move.

This year, I wanted to capture my first Christmas in this house. I didn’t go all Now that I’m working from home with a 3 month old, I went out knowing I didn’t have much time for myself. But we’ve stripped away the essentials, so it feels really special and cozy.

Some photos from my vacation at my previous home…

Someone once asked me what the “theme” of Christmas decorations is. They say most people choose themes such as the snowman, Grinch, nativity, nutcracker, Santa, and candy canes. Ours are definitely Nativity and The Nutcracker. Hudson, Christian, and I love the Nutcracker music and books. You wouldn’t feel this season without these items.

One year for Christmas we went to a tropical place. It was so beautiful at the time, but I felt like I was missing out on a traditional holiday season. I realized that I like being at home in December. Hudson really loved decorating with me this year. He loves decorations, music, trees, stockings, Jerry the Elf on the Shelf… He is very enthusiastic and has a lot of fun. Please love that child.

Merry Christmas season to you and yours. We hope you spend a lot of time by the sparkling tree, wearing fluffy socks and drinking coffee. Thanks for reading – xo –
