Brad Pitt Suffers Setback In Legal Battle With Hurricane Katrina Victims

The actors were building homes for these individuals in the wake of natural disasters, but the house developed a dangerous mold, leading to the class action lawsuit they filed.

Currently, these victims’ legal teams have received a motion to obtain important documents during the discovery stage.

It is also revealed that Brad Pitt tried to stop him from having to face depositions, claiming that it was impossible due to his filming schedule.

The legal team of some victims at Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans has been granted a continuous $20 million lawsuit for critical documents from Brad Pitt and his Make It Right Foundation.

The victim sued the Hollywood actor and his nonprofit in a class action lawsuit several years ago, claiming that they had built a flawed home for them in the wake of a natural disaster.

Pitt had spent $12 million through the Make It Right project to build these homes designed to be ecologically sustainable.

However, most homes have since been overcome by molds and other important issues that have had a major impact on some of the owners.

In the meantime, it remains unknown what the exact document is, but it is reportedly having over 70,000 documents and 30,000 pages of financial information.

The homeowner’s legal team is currently trying to hire a forensic accountant to review these documents prior to the final trial.

It has become known that Pitt tried to avoid abdication as part of a recent revelation.

The actor’s lawyer had argued that he had no relevant information and that his schedule would not allow him.

“Pitt’s film production schedule presents concerns that go beyond his personal time and attention,” the “Formula 1” star’s lawyer argued on a per filing. US Sun.

“Most notable is that Pitt’s lack of film production in the event of a deposition could create major scheduling issues with potential legal and financial implications for the studio.”

Pitt’s lawyers also argued that face-to-face deposits would be costly for the actor if he was forced to show up.

“In addition, Mr Pitt could be in a European location for the next few months, meaning that in-person deposition will include costly and time-consuming trips,” they added.

This information about the move has recently been revealed, but was actually submitted in April last year.

However, in June, the judge ruled the debate of the move, as the discovery process was not yet complete.

The next post-litigation is the status meeting, scheduled to take place next month.

The meeting may determine the date of the trial and outline the progress of the case.

The legitimate fight was dragged to this point after the proposal for a settlement agreement between the parties that fell apart in 2022 was made.

At the time, celebrity-backed Eco Charity Global Green agreed to pay a $20 million settlement on behalf of Pitt and his charity, but the report later revealed that the intended donor had no such amount.

“Brad had supported Global Green years ago, so when they approached his team, who said “$20 million in funding” had been secured by “generous donors,” I was interested in considering their proposal.”

In a statement, the official also argued that “Global Green represents itself as having already acquired these funds,” and promised Pitt that he intends to use it to resolve “all claims in the ongoing litigation in the interest of the homeowner.”

“It was very surprising to see for plaintiffs, defendants and their lawyers that the funds that Global Green has been secured multiple times had not been actually violated or raised,” the official further said.

In addition to his legal battle with Hurricane Katrina victims, Pitt still has other legal issues in his life, particularly his legal feud with their Chateau Miraval Winery, especially his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie.

However, as seen in documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on December 30, the former Hollywood power couple finally settled their divorce eight years later.

Financial records are not disclosed in the documents, Daily Mail Jolie reported that she walked $80 million rich man after dragging Pitt “through the ringer” through the long court battle.

The movie star exes is said to be relieved that they have finally ended their divorce, despite still having more legitimate fights due to business disputes.
