His grandfather, Muhammad Ali, was famous as “the best ever,” while Biagio Ali Walsh is another kind of fighter.
He is pursuing a career in mixed martial arts, and will compete again in the PFL on Friday, but rather than trying to emulate his grandfather’s overstated rhetoric Walsh, he is progressing his development in MMA in stages.
“I just want to get into this sport and see how far I can go,” he said. Sky Sports. “There are so many different martial arts involved in the battle. I loved the idea that battle is a battle.
Ali Walsh began with a humble defeat and a phenomenal start. “My first fight was in the Fusion Fight League and it was in Montana,” he recalled. “I fought a really big guy, a big bluff guy.
“I dropped him twice and this guy stood up. I heard the Terminator theme song in my head. “This guy, this guy won’t go down.” It’s a tough battle. I ended up gas and he choked me by dropping me off and grabbing me by my neck.
“But I’ve learned a big lesson to fight. Maybe you should breathe when you fight.”
But that didn’t discourage him. “If I want to fight more,” he said. “It was a great experience, and I took a lot from it, and that was my first fight.”
Muhammad Ali passed away in 2016 before his grandson was thinking of fighting himself.
“I wish I could go back and ask him more questions,” Ali Walsh said. “A great man and great grandfather too.
“But he gave my brother some advice. He told my brother to eat healthy and do some road construction, and my brother asked him if he would make a fighter plane, and my grandfather told him, “Move and dance. It makes a fighter plane.” ”
However, he does not expect to recreate his legendary grandfather in MMA.
“My grandfather and I are completely different stylistically. He liked to move around the ring and dance, which was almost like moving.
“It doesn’t take long to knock someone out, especially when you’re wearing 4 oz gloves. It’s one of my superpowers, I think, and I can only touch you, and if it’s in the right place, you might fall asleep.
“I’m just here to show how I like to fight, and hopefully everything goes well.”
