The last time I was in New York (I visited New York twice last year), I think I averaged 18,000 steps a day. And I know plenty of people who walk more than that. All I can say is that arch support is a must!
Some people don’t intend to walk that far, but before they know it, they’ve gone a few more blocks, and then a few more, and by the end of the day, their legs feel like they’ve been shattered into a stump.
And as for my husband’s suggestion of walking through Central Park instead of riding the bike buggy, please don’t. Thank goodness for the Beatles busker’s respite at Strawberry Fields.
So one thing you shouldn’t skimp on is wearing a pair or two of the right shoes for your New York getaway.

Pro tip: Please take at least two pairs of shoes The worst case is that you get a blister on your only shoe and you can’t get rid of the friction.
My other pro tips is to buy Cushioned insole This can fit into any shoe (except sandals/flip flops) as long as it has a wiggle room that is about half its size. I have several pairs and put them in everything from boots to cute white sneakers and flatforms.
Third pro tip: I’ve had to drag myself to a department store in search of socks for my soles, and when I was unsuccessful I had to tear up a table napkin to make quick work of it. blister repair If you’re on the go (reader, you don’t want to be in pain with blisters that break quickly), or if you’re trying out a new pair of shoes, it’s a good idea to pack some small cushioning bandages. .

We returned to New York between Christmas and New Years. So I ran around this chilly, drizzly yet glittering city, snapping photos of the festive decorations.
In fact, I wore hiking shoes all day long. Yes, you can also stop by Bergdorf’s house. I don’t think anyone will notice your shoes unless they are very unusual.
I also had these cute flat-ish leather boots that I wore to dinner, and I had some Radio City Rockets. This is definitely recommended in this post. How to spend a gorgeous Christmas in New York.
