After last week’s round of action pulsating in Super League action, excitement has been built up in one of the best weekends on the rugby league calendar, Magic Weekend 2025, and once again returns to the iconic St. James Park.

Newcastle spreads his arms to rugby league fans from every corner of the country (and more!) and creates a wonderful carnival atmosphere that only magic can deliver.

Saturday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 4th, promise to be two days of full throttle action, passion and memories.

If you’ve been before, you know: Newcastle lives and breathes over the weekend.

Super League highlights between Catalonia Dragon and Wakefield Trinity

Lee is undefeated by magic. The Catalans long to engrave their authority. This could set the tone throughout the weekend.

This is a chance to show why they should be considered a candidate, as the Catalans have a dominant victory over Wakefield and Lee after a big golden point victory over Lee.

St. Helens has had a really hard time performing while Leeds is performing, but hasn’t gotten results.

Both sides want to make their mark, so expect two old enemies to play the show.

Huddersfield Giants vs Hull FC (12:30pm, 1pm)

Both sides looking for sparks. Will the young stars in Huddersfield shine, or will they lift them up to something special after the faithfulness of Hull FC?

The Giants have not won this season either and know they need to change it and make it faster. Hal, caught up in this conflict behind a huge loss to Wigan, is confident he will be able to compete with the league’s top boys this year.

John Cartwright’s side will feel they can go back to the way they win.

Wigan Warriors vs Warrington Wolves (3pm, 3:15pm)

This is the rematch of last year’s Challenge Cup final. There is no love lost here. Expect strength, physicality and real fireworks.

Wigan absolutely dominated Warrington in Las Vegas, a clash of blockbusters, so the wolves want to get their own back.
