Anna Delvey Blinged-Out Her Ankle Monitor For ‘DWTS’ Debut

As seen on dance partner Ezra Sosa’s Instagram, Anna took to the floor in a colorful crop top, shorts and gold heels, but it was her sparkly ankle monitor that stole the show.

The purple stone-covered monitor looked more like jewelry than court-ordered equipment, and Anna, a convicted con artist, didn’t seem to mind, in true Anna fashion, playfully showing it off as she lounged in a white shuttle with Ezra.

Ezra’s Instagram shows the pair riding in a white shuttle, with Anna kicking her feet gleefully in the air, her bejeweled ankle monitor in full view, and her ankle resting on Ezra’s lap, proving she’s not the least bit bothered.

But not everyone was impressed when the “false heir” made headlines with her “Dancing with the Stars” debut. Instagram In a post shared by her dance partner, he urged fans to vote for the duo and captioned it:

“@theannadelvey and I need your vote to keep us going! 🗳 Voting is only open for 2 hours so act fast!“

Ezra also gave detailed instructions on how to vote. Despite urging people to support him, many viewers did not. Anna, who is still under house arrest, faced backlash for being given such a platform.

Critics didn’t hold back, with one fan commenting: “I think it’s weird to glorify bad behaviour,” while another pointed out the controversial decision to feature Anna, asking: “They even got a costume with a monitor on Anna’s ankle? Seriously?”

Fans were also outraged by the show’s casting of Anna, with comments such as, “Rewarding someone on house arrest on DWTS is the most desperate move the show has ever made,” and “Poor Ezra deserves better.”

Others expressed similar sentiments and condemned the normalization of her behavior: “Glorifying felons has become the norm in this country. It’s pathetic.”

Despite fan outrage, Dancing with the Stars doesn’t seem to mind Anna’s ankle monitor, with the show’s official website proudly featuring four action-packed slides of Delvey and her partner Ezra dancing wildly in their bejeweled ankle monitors.

In the first slide, the pair twirled around the dance floor without missing a beat as confetti rained down on them to match their colorful outfits.

In the second and third slides, the two were totally in character, dancing in perfect sync as Ezra’s hands brushed close to the monitor on his ankle.

The final slide showed the pair looking in high spirits, as if waiting for feedback from the judges, and it seemed as though neither the ankle monitors nor the noise from the fans had slowed them down.

Critics expressed their displeasure in the comments section: “DWTS has lost its mind,” one user declared, while another added, “Calling her an entrepreneur is insane.”

At the same time, a third commenter stressed, “Ankle monitors are not symbolic. She should not be on this show.”

Many fans were quick to call Anna’s performance lackluster, with one even writing, “I hope she’s the first to leave.” Another critic agreed, saying, “She has absolutely no personality. Everyone else in the cast was great.”

The notorious conman, known for pulling off elaborate schemes while posing as a wealthy German heir, was announced as a competitor earlier this month.

The Blast reported that despite facing backlash over her controversial past, promotional images for the show show Anna wearing a glamorous dress that revealed her ankle bracelets, a bold choice she carried with pride.

Anna was convicted in 2019 of defrauding banks, hotels and close friends and has been under house arrest since her release from ICE custody in 2022.

But that didn’t stop her from taking part in the star-studded competition, which also included former NBA star Dwight Howard and actress Tori Spelling.

It’s clear that Anna Delvey’s appearance on DWTS won’t go unnoticed, for better or worse.
