An American Airlines jet was forced to turn around mid-air and return to a Chicago airport due to a “possible maintenance issue,” the airline told Fox News Digital on Sunday.
American Airlines Flight 1047 was heading to Las Vegas from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) when the incident occurred, according to an American Airlines spokesperson.
“Flight 1047 returned to ORD due to a possible maintenance issue,” a spokesperson said. “The plane landed safely and taxied to the gate.”
The airline did not immediately provide details about the possible maintenance problem.

Data from FlightRadar24 showed that the Boeing 737-800 received multiple door warning light indicators. The New York Post reported.
